4: Petah Coyne

While I was at my internship today, I learned about this really neat artist named Petah Coyne. I'm digging her installation and sculpture work, which I would describe as dark, mysterious and enchanting. I admire Coyne's craftsmanship and care for detail. Her works are created from diverse materials such as silk flowers, chicken wire, feathers, ribbon, hair and wax (just to name a few). Her sculptures appear to be frozen in time during a period of decay and death; yet they are so beautiful and breathtaking to look at.

3: A Tiny Apartment Transforms Into 24 Rooms

Wow! Architect, Gary Chang is able to transform a dinky apartment into a variety of comfortable living spaces. Sustainable design has always been an interest of mine and seeing this video just makes me think about how there are so many ways that we could manipulate space in order to resolve some of our impending environmental issues. With the growing problem of overpopulation, space and urban development is such a critical subject. While it would be ideal to adopt some of Chang's ideas, not everyone is willing to settle for just an adequate living space.

2: Toy Story 3 - Official Trailer

Although I was never a hardcore Toy Story fan like my boyfriend, Toy Story 3 is a must-see movie this summer. Man, this movie brought tears to me eyes at times and made me laugh a ton. The characters are hilarious (especially the spanish Buzz, Mr. Potato and the Ken barbie). I felt that the story worked out really and left the audience wondering what would happen next. However, coming from the opposite point of view, I'm not as great of a fan in terms of the message on consumerism that the movie promotes. Check out the movie for yourself!

After many failed attempts to start a blog because I couldn't think of an interesting blog name, I finally decided to go with something random (as you can tell). I am creating this blog to jot down little ideas, people, things and places that I find inspiring, creative, funny, thought-provoking, fun, yummy or down-right lame. Right now, I'm experiencing an artist's block (it's like when someone has a writer's block) and it sucks =(. Hopefully blogging will help me organize my thoughts and stir up some awesome art project ideas for me to dive into!
